ELA Norms
  1. Treats are needed at each meeting (store or homemade)—2 per date.
  2. Have a clear purpose with agendas in advance—no surprises.
    1. Clear visuals
    2. Clear and concise updates
    3. Clarity for all stakeholders—parents, teachers, students, et. al.
  3. Respect each other’s thoughts and opinions with open-mindedness—avoid judging
    1. Know that we’re not all experts and that there will be mistakes along the way.
    2. Be positive and supportive of each other (HONK)!
    3. Avoid having personal frustration permeate the group.
    4. There are no stupid questions.
    5. Respect all grade levels and their challenges.
    6. We have the right to table confusing and/or heated topics.
  4. Use time productively—starting and ending on time and completing tasks here, but allowing flexibility for those who wish to stay and those who must leave.
  5. We need the opportunity to process before sharing, but we need everyone’s input.
  6. Be sure to give background information to those not previously involved.
  7. Decision-making is to be done by consensus.
